COLAS RAIL ITALIA DELIVERS THE MV SWITCHING STATION AT MONTE DOMO2 RAIL YARD
As part of the Framework Agreement with Rete Ferroviaria Italiana for the maintenance of power supply systems in the Milan area, Colas Rail Italia has successfully completed the technology upgrade of the Medium Voltage Switching Station, 15kV at the rail yard “Monte Domo 2”.
Following the final commissioning of the system as well as the revamping of the surrounding area the company donated to the Customer a small apple tree, which was planted in March in the green area next to the new prefabricated building and container.
Colas Rail Italia is conscious of the impact its work has on the environment and therefore the company is doing everything they can to reduce this.
The donation of the apple tree represents a symbolic gesture to reconfirm its commitment to protecting the quality of the territory and adopting a responsible and sustainable behaviours.
Specifically, Colas Rail Italia provided for this project:
- Supply and installation of a prefabricated concrete switching station, 15kV – ENEL certified – fully equipped for the medium voltage receipt and distribution
- Supply and installation of a prefabricated container for the 15 to 20kV transformation and feeding to the MV-LV compact substations’ 20kV ring pertaining to the rail yard “Monte Domo 2”.
- Construction of a cable duct for connection and interconnection between the equipment involved and the existing 20kV ring.
The upgrade work allowed the dismissal of the transformer installed at Beura Substation, which was previously used for 20kV distribution.
